Salt marsh migration is an essential survival mechanism given the reality of sea level rise in Long Island Sound. However, few studies have investigated the process of salt marsh migration into upland habitat. Funding from the Hixon Center for Urban Ecology allowed me to contribute to this exciting area of study. Results from this and future research will help Long Island Sound conserve valuable salt marsh habitat.
